This is my first collaboration with Lena, who has also written with my friend Elton Smith at Songs of Praise. Lena sent me the music and the title, and I completed the lyrics extending from that title. This is written lyrically as a 3-verse ballad. I like the reflective nature of the music that Lena has composed. |
Where Jesus Walked Music by Lena Kittrell Words by Larry Holder and Lena Kittrell Copyright © 2002 Lena Kittrell and Larry Holder (verse 1) On the road from Galilee Through the pathway of the wilderness With ev'ry eye upon Him As Jesus walked. Through the towns and by the sea On His journey to Jerusalem The people came to follow Where Jesus walked. Though He knew the way would lead Up to the hill of the cross Still, He followed His Father's will Regardless of the cost. (verse 2) Every step began in prayer On His journey through humanity The love of God revealing As Jesus walked. People came from everywhere Bringing to Him every hope and fear The Light dispelled the darkness Where Jesus walked. Jesus laughed, and Jesus cried He knew rejoicing and pain Soon becoming our sacrifice That we may live again. (verse 3) Soldiers led the Lord away On the road that led to Calvary, His sweat and blood upon Him As Jesus walked. Though they did not know that day, Jesus gave His life so willingly, The Word of God fulfulling As Jesus walked. Jesus took our sin away Now grace and mercy abound. Seek the Savior who calls to you, While grace may still be found. (repeat) Seek the Savior who calls to you, While grace may still be found. (ending) On the road from Galilee Through the pathway of the wilderness The Light dispelled the darkness Where Jesus walked...
